ALL CHILDREN ARE WELCOME in worship at Calvary. In fact, many will tell you that a favorite part of their Sunday is the sounds and joy of our youngest worshipers! That being said, we know it is not always an easy task to bring your children to worship, so we want to support you as best we can. Here are a few ways we do that:
Children’s Message and Children’s Chapel
During our 11:00 worship service we offer a time for the children to come to the front of the nave (worship space) to hear a message that has been specially prepared for them.
Following the message, the children are invited to head to our chapel (located in the hallway just outside of the nave) where they hear the scripture for the day read from a children’s Bible and participate in a time of learning and prayer that is more on their level. We ask that this chapel time be for children 2nd grade and younger.
While we do not at all mind the sounds of children in worship, we also know that sometimes kids just need a break. We offer a volunteer staffed nursery for children birth to 3 years during our 11:00 service on Sundays. If you prefer to stay with your child, you are always welcome to do so. While the nursery may be utilized with parental supervision anytime the building is open, it is only staffed at this 11:00 service time.
Activity Bags and Spark Bibles
There are activity bags with crayons, coloring sheets, etc. located in the Narthex (entrance at the back of the worship space) to help busy hands. We also provide Spark Children’s Bibles in each pew so they can follow along with our scripture for the day or simply read/look through stories of faith.
