As a lifelong Lutheran, being part of a faith community is something I've always known and cherished. Coming together with people who share a common faith is a source of strength, inspiration, and encouragement that has guided and sustained me throughout my life. For me, church is not a physical place, but rather the activity of people sharing the good news of God's love out in the world through our words and our actions.
I have served in ELCA congregations since 2002 following my graduation from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. My focus in my ministry is equipping people and congregations to live out their faith in their daily lives and to live fully into their baptismal calling as disciples of Jesus, In addition to my work in congregations, I am active in ELCA synodical and churchwide ministries.
I grew up in Florida and I hold a masters degree in Social Work and a bachelors degree in Asian studies, both from Florida State University. I have a 28 year old son, Zachary, who lives in Georgia, My fiance, Grace, lives in Japan, and we are in the process of bringing her to the US through the Spouse Visa program. I enjoy travelling, spending time in nature, and all kinds of music. I believe that human diversity is one of God's most beautiful gifts and that all of God's children are to be affirmed, celebrated, and loved.
