Becky Stevens was born and raised in Lenoir, NC (Caldwell County). She graduated from Hudson High School in 1970 and went on to Lenoir-Rhyne University graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. Becky taught music for several years and taught private piano lessons for over 20 years. Becky also served as organist at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hudson.
After resigning that post, Becky came for worship at Calvary in December of 2001 on the recommendation of a friend. Pastor Mike Riley, knowing Becky had experience, asked her to help Calvary “just get through Christmas” since the Calvary organist had just resigned. Becky agreed and she has been at Calvary ever since! Becky worked for Partnership Property Management as an Executive Director for 34 years and recently retired in February 2019. Her daughter Brandi and husband, Jason Pennell, are also members of Calvary. Their children Carson and Becklin are the light of Becky’s life and she is enjoying life here at Calvary. She has never regretted agreeing to help Pastor Riley out back in 2001.
